LEGENDARY ENTERTAINER AND SUPERSTAR ANN-MARGRET
TO BE HONORED BY CINEVEGAS FILM FESTIVAL
LAS VEGAS – Icon of stage and screen, Ann-Margret, will be presented the “Centennial Award” at
the 2005 CineVegas Film Festival. She was chosen as the recipient of the unique honor in
recognition of her unparalleled status as both an entertainer and an embodiment of Las Vegas Style
- sexy, cool, and dangerous - a style that has allowed Las Vegas to thrive for these first hundred
years.
“The CineVegas Film Festival is proud to celebrate Ann-Margret for her achievements as a singer,
dancer and actress,” stated Robin Greenspun, festival President. “There is no other person who
as accurately personifies the legendary and iconic entertainment mecca that Vegas has become.”
CineVegas’ “Centennial Award” was created in order to recognize a person who has played a role
in shaping entertainment in Las Vegas. From her appearance in Viva Las Vegas to her Las Vegas
Entertainer of the Year Award, Ann-Margret embodies the meaning of this honor. As an actress,
she has been in over forty-seven films and received two Academy Award Nominations, five Emmy
Nominations, and five Golden Globes. As a singer, she has been nominated for a Grammy for her
CD “God is Love: The Gospel Sessions,” and as a stage performer, she has played to record crowds
across the country since the 1970’s.
Ann-Margret will be presented with the award at a “Viva Las Vegas” Centennial celebration thrown
jointly by the festival and the City of Las Vegas during CineVegas, which runs June 10-18. The
event will be held at Skin Pool Lounge at the Palms Casino Resort and will follow a special
screening of Viva Las Vegas earlier in the day.
