ART INSTITUTE OF LAS VEGAS TO SPONSOR
2006 CINEVEGAS FILM FESTIVAL

LAS VEGAS – The Art Institute of Las Vegas has announced its sponsorship of the 2006 CineVegas Film
Festival, one of the fastest growing and highly anticipated film festivals in the world, by assisting in
pioneering the student program at the festival. The partnership will give Art Institute students an
inside glimpse into film festivals and the world of filmmaking, while allowing CineVegas to reach out to
a valuable audience of student filmmakers.

First, on Wednesday, June 7, Trevor Groth and Mike Plante, programmers from the festival, presented
a lecture at the school about the film festival process. Then on Tuesday, June 13, Art Institute students
will have a private screening of Easy Rider at the Palms Casino Resort with Dennis Hopper. After the
film, they will have a discussion on the film, his career and the movie making process with him.

In addition, throughout the festival, which will be held at the Palm’s Casino Resort from Friday, June 9
through Saturday, June 17, Art Institute students will have the opportunity to attend each of the
screenings and special lectures at the festival and they will have the unique and exclusive opportunity
to do Q&A sessions with some of the filmmakers after those screenings.

“Since student films highlight CineVegas each year, we are delighted that the Art Institute has decided
to be a part of this year’s festival,” said Trevor Groth, director of programming for the CineVegas Film
Festival.  “We hope to provide the students with invaluable experiences, and would like to encourage
all students to consider careers in filmmaking, and possibly submit a film to the festival in the future.”

“Our sponsorship of CineVegas is a natural fit, since many of the programs The Art Institute of Las
Vegas offers tie into the film industry,” said Milan Petrovich, academic director of Digital Media
Production at The Art Institute of Las Vegas. “Our students are thrilled to be able to participate in the
festival this year. It gives them the opportunity to experience one of America’s premier film festivals
first-hand and to view films they wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to in popular cinema.”
