CineVegas 2006 Coverage
Opening night June 9th at CineVegas as great as always!

The Hollywood Reporter’s cocktail party was fun, and a good meet and greet event for filmmakers, cast
members, etc. to all chat about their films.

After the party we went to the opening night screening review of
Strangers With Candy.

The films at CineVegas are so good this year it is hard to decide which ones to see.  So I charted out
several films to spread out over the week of the film festival.  Click on the name of the films to go to
my review.  I am only doing mini reviews, but will do full reviews of some of the films that are already
out for distribution.

Todays films
13 TZAMETI ,  and THE PUFFY CHAIR.

In the "Shorts Two" group there were two very outstanding short films:
"Denial" and "One Rat Short."

Movie Team Project with the Boys & Girls Club of Las Vegas,
presented by Hollywood HEART and Cinevegas.

This was a cute film that the Boys & Girls Club of Las Vegas did this
year.  It had aliens (so common for Las Vegas), rap and some one fan
of a certain actor.:)

It is so enjoyable to see how excited and involved in the film
probject the kids get.  Who knows some may become filmmakers in
the future.

This is a fun event for the boys & girls to see their film on the big
screen in a movie theatre.

FULL GROWN MEN
Director David Munro

Cast: Matt McGrath, Judah Friedlander, Alan Cumming, Deborah Harry,
Amy Sedaris, Joie Lee

A man refuses to grow up and leaves his wife and son. He looks for his
boyhood friend trying to reclaim his childhood. Sometimes you can't go
home and other people around you grow up.  This film had great opening
credits and some wonderful acting. One of the best parts was Alan
Cumming.  Too me it was more sad than funny.
THE 4TH DIMENSION
(World Premiere)

Directors Tom Mattera & Dave Mazzoni

Cast: Louis Morabito, Miles Williams, Karen Peakes, Kate LaRoss, Suzanne
Inman

This was an interesting film as it was about a man who at very young age
was a genius.  With several twist it led you on a path with an ending that you
would not expect.  Also an ending to solve.  Had he solved the questions
about time travel and was he in another dimension or not?
