"SHOWEST VANGUARD AWARD”
PARKER TO STAR IN NEW LINE CINEMA’S SEX AND THE CITY

LOS ANGELES — Sarah Jessica Parker will receive the inaugural ShoWest Vanguard Award,
it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, co-managing director of the event, which will be
held March 10 -13, 2008 in Las Vegas.  Parker will be presented with the ShoWest Vanguard
Award at its closing night ceremony on Thursday, March 13th at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas.

“Since making her acting debut at the tender age of eight, Sarah Jessica Parker has come into
her own as, not only an actress, but as an entrepreneur,” noted Neuhauser. “Her incredible
range and effortless style have inspired fans around the world to take chances and stand out in a
crowd. From her work in film and television to her development of a cost-friendly fashion line,
Bitten, Parker is a celebrated icon in film, television and fashion and we are thrilled to present
her with the ShoWest Vanguard Award.”

This spring, Parker will star in the big screen feature film adaptation of the hit HBO television
series “Sex and the City”, which she also produces. Scheduled for release by New Line Cinema
on May 30, 2008, the film will answer all the lingering questions about the series’ beloved
characters: Will Carrie and Big finally tie the knot? Can Samantha really be satisfied with just
one man? Will Charlotte ever get pregnant? Can Miranda and Steve actually live happily ever
after? Set in Manhattan four years after the series ends, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall,
Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon reprise their roles. The film is written and directed by Michael
Patrick King, who executive produced and also wrote the original television series; and will
feature trendsetting fashion from the series’ costume designer Patricia Fields. Additionally,
Chris Noth, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler and Jason Lewis will return as the women’s love
interests and are joined by series regulars Mario Cantone and Willie Garson as well as
Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls), who will play Carrie Bradshaw’s
assistant, a new character to be introduced in the film.

In addition, Parker will star in the upcoming Mirimax film Smart People, which screened at
Sundance this year and opens on April 11, 2008. Directed by Noam Murro, she stars opposite
Dennis Quaid as a doctor who falls in love with a professor whose wife’s death has turned him
into a bitter man.

Parker won over critics and audiences around the world in HBO’s much beloved television
series “Sex and the City,” for which she was awarded four Golden Globe Awards for Best
Actress as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award.  Her most recent film, Failure to Launch with
Matthew McConaughey, grossed more than $128 million worldwide. Other recent credits include
her Golden Globe nominated performance in The Family Stone, State and Main, Ed Wood, The
First Wives Club and Honeymoon In Vegas. Parker’s early motion picture roles include Flight of
the Navigator, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, L.A. Story and Footloose.
