|
Ryan Gosling, star of upcoming Paramount Classics drama The United States of Leland, has
been named male star of tomorrow for ShoWest .
Gosling was born in London, Ontario, Canada, in 1980. He landed a role on The Mickey Mouse
Club at age 12. He was on the show for two years, before moving onto television commercials
and then a part in Disney's Frankenstein and Me in 1996. Gosling was in the short-lived
television show Breaker High in 1997.
Then he landed the role of Zeus’ son on the popular television show Hercules: The Legendary
Journeys. "Hercules" was probably a pivotal moment in his career, which has led to bigger and
better things for this up-and-coming young star.
He worked in Remember the Titans (2000) and then the 19 year-old Gosling’s worked in The
Believer as a Jewish student (2001, one of Sundance's most talked about films, The Believer
written/directed by Henry Bean.). Gosling has worked in The Slaughter Rule, Murder By
Numbers, The Stay and The Notebook.
