We Will Rock You
like a fine wine gets
better with age.

“We Will Rock You” like a fine wine gets better with age.   We saw the show opening night, and some of the
cast was a little stiff for a rock & roll show, but they really rock now!

“We Will Rock You” is performed at Le Théâtre des Arts, inside the Paris Las Vegas.  There about 400 in
attendance and that is good for a mid-week show.  As usual the show got a standing ovation before it was over.
It is hard to sit while the cast does “We Will Rock You” for their bows.  The audience got involved in the show,
by clapping along or waving their hands.  The cast gives little hints to the audience when they wish the audience
to participate.  The one thing we noticed was that the audience was not just a crowd of rockers in their 20-
30s…there were many members in the over 40 crowd.  In fact one man sitting in front of us was really getting
into the show and he had to be going on 70 years young.

We had one man with us who is in the over 40 (he said way over) plus group what he thought about the show.
He said it was loud, which did not surprise me, as some people when they get older cannot take the noise
levels.  He also said the acting, singing and choreography was great.  Well, I have to agree with him.
Everything is better.  The cast has gotten into their parts and they are just fantastic.

One reason we revisited this show again was because we saw the alternate leads Jason Wooten (Galileo) and
Kacie Sheik (Scaramouche).  Both leads were top notch.  Wooten had Freddie Mercury’s moves down very
well.  At times he sounded like Freddie.  Of course no one can replace Freddie he was one of a kind and this
show was not made to replace Freddie but to honor him and the remaining cast members of “Queen.”   The two
leads play off each other well and are matched very good as are the other two leads.  Wooten no stranger to
Broadway shows has a great career ahead of him.

We had a chance to talk with him and his lovely wife.  He is a very modest and warm man.  I found that with
every cast member I chatted with at an AIDS benefit that followed the show at a local nightclub.

My UK correspondent has seen the show four times in the UK.  He saw it just before coming over to the US to
compare the two shows.  He said that he felt the US show was fun and good, but you could not compare them, as
they are different shows.  The jokes Ben Elton has put in the show are just as fresh as they were the first time I
saw the show.  Also, I noticed that some seemed to have been updated with current news.

For more information on the show and other cast members see our first review.
